The MeasuPro OX100 is a handy device that will measure your pulse and oxygen levels.

It’s a quick test that you simple turn on, put your finger in (that’s what she said!) and wait a few seconds for it to calculate your pulse and oxygen levels.

I find this great for working out as it helps to see what my pulse is and monitor if I’m in fat burning zone or cardio zone.

You reach fat burning zone when you read 55% – 70% of your maximum heart rate and it basically means that your are burning most calories for fat. A good zone to be in when you’re wanting to lose a bit of weight.

You’ve probably seen on the machines at the gym the pulse rate monitors that tell you if you’re in the cardio zone or fat burning zone.

It might seem a bit confusing. But basically being in the cardio zone means you’re burning most fuel from carbohydrates and being in the fat zone means you’re burning most fuel from store fat. Although you burn more calories in the cardio zone.

It’s also great for measuring how fast it takes your heart rate to recover after exercising. If you’re heart rate recovers faster, it means you’re getting fitter.

It comes with a case that you can attach to a belt or lanyard to take out and about for quick and easy readings.

This devise also measures your oxygen saturation. To be honest, I’m just using it for the pulse rate but knowing your oxygen saturation is good for people with asthma and other such breathing/lung diseases as a good way of monitoring your levels throughout the workout. It can detect other underlying diseases, but let’s leave that to the experts, shall we?

I’ve been sent two of these babies, on to use and review myself, and another to give away.

  1. I have to confess that the only parts of me that get regular exercise are my jaw and my brain, but I do enjoy swimming

  2. I’m not well enough to exercise at the moment (cancer) but I used to enjoy swimming & cycling the most x

  3. I would like to try a device like this one. I was thinking of a heart rate monitor while I’m working out, but never bought one, not sure why.

  4. hey that’s really awesome- to keep track of your body! I’d love something like this to help manage my body!

  5. This is helpful to get the most out of your exercise. Mine would probably say stop exercising you are in danger of collapse. Lucy x

  6. That sounds really interesting and like a handy gadget to have at the gym, certainly much easier than trying to hold on to the flipping heart rate sensors while I’m running! I need to be in the fat burning zone more.

  7. running and my exercise bike though i do plan to buy a bike for me and my hubby when we can afford it

  8. Fancy pants lil gadget this! I don’t much like the monitor in the gym, it seems to take forever to get my heart rate (I think it’s all that sweat on my hands!) and I’m not totally convinced it’s an accurate result. This would be much more hygienic (my sweat only!) and looks like it would be more accurate too! Entered πŸ™‚

  9. Walking!

With a baby it’s hard to find the time to do much else. I like to strap her into the buggy and go out for a long walk each day – it does us both some good. πŸ™‚

I am restricted but I love hillwalking and getting away into the mountains, or canoeing (though I dont have one).
I need to get geared up so I can do the things I love again πŸ™‚
