Hello, internets.
Time for this months Birchbox. I’m pretty sure I must be coming to the end of my subscription shortly. I had a half price coupon for a 6 months subscription. It’s been fun – but I ain’t paying full price for 2 boxes as I also get Glossy Box.
The great debate is beginning inside my head:
Glossy Box or Birchbox?
October Birchbox
This months theme was Work it. It’s about getting a great work/life balance and came with a booklet full of tasks to do each day to motivate and inspire yourself.
The products came inside a cute pink bag, too. One of the fun things about Birchbox is that they always come with some form of bag that can be used for storing makeup and are great for taking on trips. Let’s take a look at the products, bitches.
Cattier Pink Clay Face Mask // £4.25
GIVE ME FACE MASKS. If you would have asked me a few months ago if I wanted to try a face mask, I would have said LOL NO I’M TOO LAZY FOR THAT.
That’s before my Skin of Doom started.
My Skin of Doom has distressed me so much, that I have changed my mind about face masks in hope they can help me and my skin and my heart.
This clay mask has aloe vera to illuminate your complexion and soften your skin. You wack it on for 10 mins and then rinse it off.
Because I am still Corinne, AKA still lazy, I usually apply face masks right before going into the shower to make life a little easier for me. I like easy. I am easy. Wait, what?
Pixi by Petra Shea Butter Lip Barm // £8
I can’t say I would pay £8 for this – but it is cute. I love the colour scheme of the packaging and the tint of colour it gives my lips. It’s not as extreme as it looks and just provides a slight tint, not as much as Baby Lips, but it is enough for me.
It smells like sweeties.
Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum // £30.95
I’ve noticed an influx of serums promising to brighten skin tone in beauty boxes lately, I can’t say I’ve been impressed with any so far, hopefully this anti-ageing serum from Dr Sebagh and Cindy Crawford is a different story. It’s to be used under moisturiser for a bit of an extra boost.
KMS California HAIR PLAY Playable Texture // £15.50
This styling spray can be used on wet hair before drying and styling or on Dry hair to add volume and restyle. I’m not really sure if this has a place in my hair routine. It smells like hairspray and vodka.
Do not want.
Shaveworks The Coo Fix // £11
This is a lotion that you use after shaving to treat ingrown hairs, razor bumps and redness.
I don’t think I’ve ever tried anything like this before, so I don’t know what to expect!
Birchbox Lipstick Pen // £2.50
I don’t know which is worse, this, or that first chapter of I book from the August Birchbox.
I don’t think I would dare take this out of the house in fear that the humans thought it was one of those ‘discreet’ lipstick vibrators you can get. Which I don’t understand anyway, do people actually wank in public places while out and about?
Speaking of wanking, which item tickles your pickle the most?
That lip balm looks so cool. Is it scented?
Lizzie’s Daily Blog
yeah, it smells like sweets!
That lip pen looks so funny haha (also love your description of it!) what is it even supposed to do?! The shaving gel thing looks really cool though and something that might actually come in handy!

The pixi lipbalm looks lovely, what a cute box xx

I normally love these boxes but really not sure about this one. The pen is funny, probably had some money left in the box and thought what should we buy, oh I know a small pen that is virtually useless and looks like a pink lipstick. The serum and lip balm look nice Lucy x
Yeah, the pen is stupid
Great products! I would like to try Cattier Pink Clay Face Mask, it sounds good!!!!

I must admit I did wonder what on earth the pen was when I saw it in my box! But I can’t wait to use it in public and watch everyones faces haha.

Saloca in Wonderland
Haha, sorrynotsorry!
I could have gone my whole life not knowing about discreet vibrators.. honestly I could have.
None of those items particularly “tickles my pickle” but at least they’re all decent sizes and not a chapter of a book ey 😉
Danniella x
UGH don’t get me started on the book chapter!
definitely the pix balm! It’s cute!
