Hello internet!

Or instanet. See what I did there? LOLZ.

I’m very happy that September is over. Done. Dusted.

September was an extremely hard, exhausting, yet necessary month.

I got a new job in July. This was with the same company as I was already employed with, but opening up a new branch. This involved interviewing, training and setting up the branch. As well as learning a new job role, as the department I’m managing now is new to me. I’m also in charge of almost 30 people, instead of 6.

Everyone worked so hard setting up the store, training and getting ready for opening day. I put in a lot of hours, as did many others.

I don’t like to talk about work here because it’s not very professional to do so, but I wanted to mention it briefly as it has been a massive part of my life over the past few weeks. I’ve not worked this hard since my management placement 5 years ago.

It’s been fantastic seeing the whole thing coming together and being there from the start. Seeing the management team develop, then grow as we added the rest of the colleagues into the mix and then standing there on open day, all our new colleagues wearing a new uniform and a huge smile ready to greet customers. It was fantastic.

I had doubts that I would not be able to blog daily during the opening, as I was working around 12 hours a day and did a 10 day stint – but with careful planning and determination, I managed to get everything scheduled!

My instagram would have been dead if it wasn’t for the kitten. The kitten is a magical grey bundle of joy. LOOK HOW CUTE. HUGO. HELLO. LOVE.

Highlights of my month are:

  • Opening the store.
  • Attending a photography workshop with India.
  • Finally starting to re-organise my room and throw some junk away.
  • Not being hungover.
  • Not being eaten by a spider.

I hope October is easier. Mostly, I just want more sleep and to feel warm on a daily basis. Is that too much to ask?
