Color Club

It’s a bit of a light hearted post today, as I’ve had a few serious posts lately! The world is an #awkward place I guess!

I got this nail varnish in my July Glossybox.

It’s by an American brand called ‘Colour Club’ and they created this colour ‘Glossy Seal’ for the Glossybox.

Although I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colour of this, the formula is horrible to work with. It’s really gloopy and doesn’t really allow you to control where it goes. I had problems keeping it from bleeding into my cuticles and had to go be with a q-tip to remove some smudges with nail varnish remover.

It’s very hard to get less product on the brush, it just picks up too much thick product and then you don’t have time to control it!

In my last NOTD post, the formula was lovely to work with and I was able to finish my nails without having to remove any excess after.

Another negative is that the staying power was rubbish! I applied this on Wednesday evening and by Saturday morning it was coming off in thick, easy to peel chunks. Although I do love to peel nail varnish off, I prefer it to say on!

The only positive of this is that I only needed one coat.

Saying that, I would much rather have to apply 2 or 3 coats and get more control and more staying power than this thick, hard to control stuff!

After applying the colour, I then randomly stuck on some gems I got from the #BlogYorkshire event. I was randomly because to be honest, I had no idea what I was doing. And most of them ended up on the floor because I’m an idiot and didn’t know how to open it, so I was turning it around and bits were falling out and I didn’t realise why. Stupid.

After the gem ordeal, I added some sparkles. Whee! This was my favorite nail varnish of tall time, Milani ‘Golden Romance’ and then a polish by a brand called Sinful Colors in shade ‘Nail Julie’. These are also from America as I purchased them from Florida in May 🙂

So although I do enjoy this colour with glittery stars and sparkles, Color Club, you are wank.

  1. What a shame the formula, the color is eyecatching! You did a good job at the end, loving how you decorated the nails then! Kisses Corinne xo

  2. Ah! These nails are so adorable! I love that you added glitter because it really adds to the whole space vibe you’re going for (:

  3. That’s a great colour, too bad the quality is no good. Have you tried Butter nail polish? I believe it’s a UK based brand that’s vegan. It works like a charm, and they have a really cool matte varnish that creates a matte finish. A bit on the pricier side but they last a while.

  4. LOVE the stars and glitter! Shame about the lack of staying power – I kind of love crappy nail varnish though, peeling it off is like picking at a scab and c’mon, we ALL love doing that! So satisfying lol!

  5. The colour of this nail varnish is really lovely and the addition of the stars really works. With the little pot of gems I am sure there is lots more to come Lucy x

  6. I love peeling the polish off my fingers, It’s a bit addicting. The color is gorgeous too bad it didn’t work out.

  7. since discovering gel nails, there’s just no need for “traditional” nail varnish anymore, imo! lol.

are you signed onto Nuffnang, Corinne? i think it’s a great way you could earn some extra cash with your god awesome blogging! ;D

  8. I reaaaallly hate the colour of this. I got it in my Glossybox and was so disappointed! But you’ve actually managed to make it look really nice 🙂
