I’m on a quest for the perfect mascara. I’ve not tried loads of make-up in my time and tend to just buy a random mascara that’s on offer and get a new one when it runs out. I’m hoping to find that perfect mascara that will add volume to my VERY LONG (yay) but VERY THIN (boo) eyelashes!
I got this from Boots back in March and I’ve now been using it for a couple of weeks. I took it on holiday with me.
I really love the type of mascara tubes that are fatter around the middle. I have no idea why, but I just want to grab them and hold them in my little hands. There is no logic to this.
Anywhooooo, I usually apply 2-3 coats, so I’ve done the whole coat test thing with pictures for you to see the difference they make to my eye lashes.

For £3.99, this is decent for the price. But it didn’t wow me over. While it did make my eyelashes darker, I found it clumpy at times and it didn’t add as much volume as I had hoped.
I won’t be repurchasing this. I liked it but not enough to make me want to stick with it, I’m still on my quest for the perfect mascara!

I’ve got two other mascaras waiting to be opened and reviewed, so I’ll get on that when this dries out.
Also don’t forget to check out my review of Maybelline’s Illegal Fibre Lash Mascara
What’s your favourite mascara?

  1. It’s a great price, but it doesn’t seem to be quite there and I think I’ll give this a miss :o) Xx

    Makeup by Candlelight

  2. I always love trying new mascaras – what a shame this one didn’t wow you, but always worth a shot I say. I find drugstore mascaras much better than the high end ones.

  3. I’ve always walked past the Collection stand in the drugstore near the central terminus in Hong Kong; such a shame this one didn’t turn out well, given the good price point! Maybelline Magnum Volum’ is my go-to at the moment, and my sister loves the Colossal, maybe it’s worth a try? x

  4. Shame you didn’t like it so much. It looked good, of ot didn’t give you what you were looking for, no point in waisting money. Super review doll :)) xx

  5. Three coats is too much!! I usually wear one. I have tried many mascaras and my favourite is Big and beautiful boom by Margaret Astor although now I am using one by Kiko and it is not bad either. Kisses:)

  6. You are blessed with such long lashes , I am J
I agree it’s not the right mascara for you, have u tried falsies by maybelline !!
    I swear by it
    Keep in touch

  7. I am so fussy with Mascara! I’ve been impressed with the two oriflame ones I’ve tried so far, as well as l’oreal Manga Eyes x

  8. my lashes are both thin & short— boo to being typically Asian D’: that’s why i always go for mascara with the lengthening fiber thingyy. whatever those are called. lol! magic in a tube!

  9. I love Maybelline The Rocket Waterproof but the my lashes are short and stumpy so I’ve got completely different needs to you. How long are your lashes by the way! I’m jealous!

  10. Clumpy mascara does my nut in because it leaves marks when you move your eye lashes the meat mascara is Maybelline or Lancôme. Lucy x

  11. I’m not faithful to any mascara, I use whatever is closest to me, though I do recommend Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless if you haven’t already tried it. I’m the same about loving a fat in the middle tube, skinny tubes just aren’t the same.. at least I’m not the only one :’)
