I love the print of this dress. Hurrah for foxes! I was originally going to title this post ‘what did the fox say?’ But that was too typical for my linking. I am not a fan of typical things and I’m generally quite unique when it comes to most things in life. Especially  music.

I’m much more of a Rilo Kiley typa’ girl than a ‘down wih the latest hit’ kinda girl. This made me realise that I have never made a post about music. Which I should, because I have quite a unique taste in music and tend to listen to songs by artists not many have heard before. I rarely know songs in the charts and most of them make me want to stab myself. Or question humanity and the direction in which direction it is heading. Selfie song, anyone? So I bring with you a list of my favourite songs. Some are all time favourites, and some are fads that will surely fade away in time.

My top 10 songs.

1. Sail – AWOLNATION
2. Just keep breating – We The Kings
3. Flesh and Bone – Keaton Henson
4. Evening Kitchen – Band of Horses
5. The Calendar Hung Itself – Bright Eyes
6. Family Portrait – Radical Face
7. Pink Rabbits – The National
8. Such Great Heights – Postal Service
9. My rollercoaster – Kimya Dawson
10. Cripple and the Starfish – Anhony and the Johnsons

This was not easy :/

You should listen to the lyrics as I am VERY VERY into lyrics and words. Best thing ever. I love songs that have lyrics beautiful enough to be stand alone poems. I love lyrics that have very vivid imagery, that have clever double meanings and that can make my feel like my heart is slipping through my ribcage. Oh, music.

Do you like any of the above songs?

  1. Love this dress!! Love the fact you’ve mentioned Rilo Kiley even more! (Portions for Foxes ALWAYS makes it onto my playlists! D’ya like Metric as well in a kind of similar vein?)

  2. Very cute dress and I love the little boots too! Perfect!

I’m a lyrical kinda girl too and I can never pick out just a few favourite songs because I have so many that are just really sentimental to me, either because of the lyrics or because of the memories I associate with them. I honestly think the worst question anyone can ask me is ‘what’s your all time favourite song’ because it changes constantly!

  4. Your dresses always catch my attention, Corinne. They´ve got lovely patterns and this one ( in green, my favourite colour) is one of my favourites. Kisses:)

  5. I have that same dress and love it, though unfortunately since someone else pointed it out I can’t stop my brain from going ‘what does the fox say’ everytime I put it on!

I don’t know the first thing about music these days either, I think I stopped listening to new music about 10-12 years ago and have just stuck with the same stuff! haha I think I’m old 😉

  11. Hey Corinne 🙂
Firstly, I have to say that that dress must be almost the exact one I have had my eye on for a while now since I first included it my autumn time wishlist; and also, what great taste you have in music! I love sail by AWOLNATION and Such Great Heights is magical (especially when listened to on a plane on my way to Russia two years ago). Band of Horses, Radical Face and Anthony and the Johnsons are all cool, and then there’s The National! My boyfriend loves Pink Rabbits, and we saw them live in Manchester recently, they were awesome of course!

You should listen to Lykke Li, Tennis and Future Islands 🙂
