tesco haul

OK, before I go into my main post, which is about twitter chats, I’m going to quickly show you a cheeky haul of what I bought at Tesco yesterday in their Florence and Fred clothing section.

cat slippers
owl hat
monochrome skirt

The monochrome skirt and bag are available online, I can’t find the lovely cat faced slippers on the website though, and the owl hat was in the sale.

brown leather bag

I got the bag for every day use. The one I currently have is getting really tatty. I am going to transfer my things over today and do a ‘what’s in my bag’ tag, as I love reading those when others do them.

florence and fred haul

I’ve become really impressed with clothing at Tesco lately, they seem to be catering to women a little younger than before. Or that could be that I’m getting older! Whatever the reason, I’m finding myself spending more and more money there.

Twitter Chats.

Okay, time to turn my attention to the ‘main topic’ of this post. Which is Twitter Chats. I just discovered twitter chats at the beginning of this month and I’ve made friends with some lovely people through them! If you’ve never tried them before, you should give them ago! It’s a mixture of learning and gossiping with other bloggers. Perfect.

What’s a Twitter Chat?

A Twitter Chat is when a group of people use a pre-discussed hashtag at a set time bring together a conversation in the style of a chatroom.

I could say, for example, at 8pm let’s all do a twitter chat and use #skinnedcartree. You would search for the hashtag at 8pm, (or just before) tweet your hellos including the hashtag in your tweet. Everyone that is joining will see your tweet, and you will see everyone else’s.

They usually have a host, one person asking certain questions, then you answer them and reply to other uses. It’s a great tool for learning and also networking.

When do Twitter Chats take place?

I’ve started to compile a calendar of when Twitter Chats are.
#fbloggers on a Monday + Thursday (8-9pm)
#psbloggers Monday (8-9pm)

#CraftBlogClub Tuesdays (7-8.30pm)

New Twitter Chat #socialbloggers.

I’ve been talking with Noor of Noor’s Place and we have decided to create our own twitter chat on Saturday evening at 6pm UK time (11pm Karachi time) as there is only one chat on a Saturday.

It’s the first one this Saturday, so the topic and questions of the chat haven’t been finalised yet! More details will come in my next post about.

I have a few questions I’d like to ask you guys about it.

1. What topics do you like to discuss.
2. Do you have a question you would like to ask?

Follow Myself and Noor on twitter to keep updated!

    Sian 🙂

  5. i love your slippers & that hat — so adorable!! i thought tesco was a food store? i’ve never been to england though, so that’s just based off of a lily allen song, haha. i’ve been meaning to try out a twitter chat, seems like a great place for networking. thanks for the info! i will stop by yours if i can figure out the time difference.

    1. Haha, it is a food store, but some bigger ones have a clothing section. The one I work in sells everything, food, clothes, house things, DVDs..

  7. Omg, those slippers!! And the owl hat!!! ADORABLE.:D As for the Twitter chats, I’ve never participated in one. Some are very adept to Twitter and other social media, but I still am not that at home there. Yet! I should say yet.:)

And to answer to your song question. I actually don’t have much of a voice, but I’d love to do at least one of those ‘talking’ songs. Here’s an example. You’ll probably hate the song but at least you’ll know what I’m talking about.:) Skip to 2:15.:)

  8. How fabulous that you will be hosting your own twitter chat. I will not be able to take part as I’m working on that day but will definitely check other chats you listed above. Have fun on Saturday!

  9. awww those adorable kitty slippers and owl hat are the sweetest! love them. I am actually not on twitter. I really appreciate your feedback on my last post…Happy Friday!

  10. Those cat-faced slippers are adorable, and the monochrome skirt must look pretty on you. I haven’t figured out how many hours to subtract? from GMT to get Eastern Standard Time U.S. for the Twitter chats, but I already knew I liked some of the Twitter hashtags and have used hashtags for topics in the past. Whenever I log into Twitter I’ll have to take note of whether you’re doing a fun Twitter chat!

  11. Love that skirt! It looks like it has the perfect flare! Thanks also for posting all of those twitter chat hashtags–super helpful!

  12. I love everything you bought. This is the most adorable little collection of amazing things! I certainly didn’t know what a twitter chat was. I am so behind on the whole twitter thing. Just recently I worked out hastags and started using them with my instagram.

  13. I loved the adorable stuff u got there ! the beanie is my fav ! I have had twitter chats earlier, but somehow I felt it was confined to a group of bloggers who connected before. After a few mins i felt kinda lost as there was a discussion going on I felt alien to. I would love if there is a forum where we could connect up n address blogging issues n help each other grow !

  14. Hi Corinne! Your haul is adorable, love the hat and the slippers, utterly cute. The twitter chats is a brilliant idea, never took part in one. Dont know though if I will be at home tmw for that hour, will peek for sure btw. xo

  15. Love your purchases, especially the flats! So cute. I have never tried Twitter chats and I’m a bit scared that if I try, I will become addicted to it…

  16. I’m also completely obsessed with Tesco lately – SO many great clothes! I need to stop checking their website before I bankrupt myself!

I feel like I should be getting involved in Twitter chats (and Twitter in general, really), but I always find Twitter so confusing… it moves so fast that by the time I’ve scrolled back to work out what everyone’s talking about, they’ve all moved on to something else, and I get to be the awkward person who barges in and blurts out something that everyone stopped talking about 20 minutes ago!

  17. Visiting from Three-Fer Thursday Link-up! Those cat slippers are so adorable! Very cool finds.

  18. corinne, are you aiming to be some kind of bigwig in this blogging community scene? lol. if you are, i want in!!! haha. it feels like you could be on to something here, girrrrl. should really consider it from a business perspective (like membership fees, etc.) and run with it! 😀

(but free for the one who suggested the idea, though. HAHA)

lovin them cat slippers (: so sweet!
