Dress : c/o OASAP
Shoes : ASOS
You may remember this dress from one of my OASAP wish lists in this post. Well, I made my wish come true by adding it to my basket when my credits came through, and voila. I’m happier with the dress than I thought I would be, I thought the underskirt and background was black, but it is, in fact blue – which looks a lot better than in the photos on the site, I think. Win for me.
Yesterday was doff. And an eventful one it was.
I was due to go to the car dealership to see about getting a new car. My housemate was on her way to her driving lesson but couldn’t lock the door. It just would not lock. I then e-mailed my car lady to say I had to cancel because there was a problem with the door and I couldn’t lock it. I called the landlord but I got it to lock, so hung up after right away.
Anyway, the door worked. I tried the lock a few times and it worked. My landlord text to ask if I rang and I explained there was an issue with the door but it was okay now, I was e-mailing my car lady to arrange this new car thing via e-mail. Because that’s that you do in 2013 apparently, buy cars over e-mail. Suits me and saves me over an hour of driving. Sweet. Door works, car via internet, what would be more perfect?
Housemate calls me.
‘Can you let me in?’.
‘The door works now though.’
‘No, I can’t unlock it.’
I go upstairs. She can’t open it from the outside. I can’t open it from the inside. She needs a wee.
You can see the dilemma here, yes?
Ok so, I live in basement the room and open my window. It’s a tight squeeze, she passes me her bags through it and tries to get in. Can’t do it.
Finally managed to get her in, I had to pick up off the windowsill and carry her over to my bed. I was quite the moment. If I ever thought I was going to carry a women to my bed – this is not how I imagined it would be.
We called the landlord, and he was here within 5 minutes. Because he is the best landlord ever. Seriously, if you are ever wanting a house in Leeds, I’ll give you his number and you will see how great he is. He is such a handy man at everything and sorts all our problems out. Not like our old landlord, who I couldn’t go on about for
paragraphs chapters novels. Anyway..
The lock is a high security lock. He had trouble breaking into it. He had to climb through our window with the help of a ladder. Finally got it off. But broke the door in the process.
He was in the middle of doing another job when we called, so said he would have to get a new door for us which would take a while. So he would get two new locks and put them on later in the evening.
He went away. I went for a 5 mile run. He came back about 8:30pm to sort out the situation.
Christine and I decided to play chess, as we could not continue to watch Dexter with the drilling and all. It was all fun and games until I saw it. IT. BIG MASSIVE SPIDER crawling under the sofa I was sat on. I got up screamed, Christine knows this reaction so reacted the same before I had time to say MASSIVE SPIDER.
‘HELP ME LANDLORD,’ I screamed.
Christine and I cowered in the corner of the room, while our hero lifted up the sofas with one finger (okay, not one finger, but you get the point, he was like superman in our eyes by this point) and scooped the spider up in a glass and put it in a place which I hope is death.
We went back to playing chess, which I won.
Landlord fixed the door.
I beat level 421 of Candy Crush.
And then lived happily ever after.
All and all, yesterday was a good day.
This is the new car I am getting, btw.
