Eagle & Child is one of Leeds Brewery’s pubs set in York. It’s a timber frame building that has traditional gold leaf sign writing. The bar serves all of Leeds Brewery’s staple beers alongside guest ales. It also serves wines and spirits.
This pub really does capture the beauty of York with how it’s decorated. Upstairs, there’s more seating and even a little nook with a table and benches that would fit 8 – 10 people. There’s a walled beer garden so you can enjoy the sun.
One thing I’m loving about York is the amount of beer gardens. I found that Leeds didn’t have many and they were always packed as soon as the sun comes out.
Sitting by the windows, you get to see all the lovely buildings that line the streets of York. It’s got a lovely atmosphere and I can’t wait to go back again.
You can visit yourself at 9 High Petergate, York YO1 7EN.
