I feel like all I do is slag off mascaraIt’s true. I get so excited about mascara. Because it promises the world. But then gives me nothing.

Thicker. Blacker. Darker. Longer. More volume. Curl.

You name it.

But I can’t seem to find any mascara that lives up to expectations.

I have long lashes, but they’re straight and thin.

Jelly Pong Pong Mascara

Enter Jelly Pong Pong Mascara, with thanks to the October Glossybox. I was excited to they these Fairy Lashes, which promised me some extra curl. They actually promise to add curl throughout the whole day, due to some fancy spancy ingredient that’s inside it. I would love to tell you all about it, but Virgin Media’s internet is about as much use as this mascara so won’t load the page.

Okay right, finally, it loaded. It’s Moringa Seed resin that’s in it that is supposed to dry and hold the lashes into a curl. FAIL.

Let’s look at the ingredients:

INGREDIENTS : Water (aqua), stearic acid, cyclomethicone, carnauba (carnauba
cerifera) wax, glycerin, PVP, ehtylhexyl palmitate, triethanolamine, beeswax (cera alba), moringa pterygosperma seed extract, methylparaben, propylparaben, [+/- (may contain/peut contenir) titanium dioxide (CI 77891), iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), chromium oxide greens (CI 77288), FD&C blue no. 1 al lake (CI 42090:2), D&C red no. 7 ca lake (CI 15850:1)]

Also I must mention that this brand is 100% cruelty free, so it might be something you want to look into. Just not this product.

Okay, I’m being a bit harsh here. The mascara didn’t do a bad job. It just gave me zero curl. Another thing is that it seemed to work less and less each time I used it.

It worked well with about 3 layers on, like the photos below, but now it just darkens the lashes a bit, only a few weeks later.

I wish I loved this, I really do. But I can’t help the way I feel.

Looking at the photos, it does look like it has done a good job, but as I said, it seems to have dried out pretty quickly and it’s pretty poor now.

HELP.

  1. I barely ever wear mascara, usually I hate the one I buy and look for another. I’m not even sure one can tell I have it on when I wear it any ways!! Hope you find one you like one day!! x

  2. Have you tried the lush mascara? If you have naturally long lashes it might be really good on you! I’m the same and have long lashes that don’t curl much but love the lush mascara. It’s so conditioning and seems to help my lashes at least stand up a bit more! Stephie xx

  3. I swear nothing is more upsetting than disappointing products! I am currently feeling the same way about the Benefit Bad Girl mascara, I just cannot love it! My ultimate is better than sex at the moment, have you tried it? Although Maybelline Lash Sensational is pretty epic too!

  4. If you ever find the magical mascara that actually holds the curl, give me a shoutout, Corinne! That’s my biggest problem too. 🙁

  5. Im exactly the same!! Ive tried every single bloody mascara under the sun and none of them give me a good curl (or much length to be honest) and I spend AGGESSS curling my eyelashes before and after mascara too. They still look shit though haha. So these days I just buy super cheap mascara because it does about the same as the newest fancy pants mascara anyway!

  6. I hate mascara! I haven’t worn it for a good 10 years now. See, my problem was- ONE of my eyes curled up perfectly and naturally and the other one refused to do ANYTHING!!!! It just went downwards! It made me furious!!!!! 🙂
