We woke up early to get to Disneyland Paris when it opens at 10am. Though there was an issue with the safes in our rooms – they had been locked so we had to wait around for a bit for someone to come and sort it so we could leave our money and passports in it.
It was taking ages for the man with the key to come.
After about 20 minutes, I got fed up of waiting and went up to the desk and said IS IT GOING TO BE SOON WE HAVE STUFF TO DO. The women ran off and got the man instantly.
Christine said I was scary.
I’m not a patient person.
We got to Disney just after 10am. We collected our tickets from a machine. Then off we went for our adventure.
Disneyland Park is one of three sections at Disneyland Paris. The other two being Disney Studios and Disney Village.
Disneyland park is most similar to the Magic Kingdom in Florida. I expect that it was based on that, with the layout being similar and having sections such as Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Discoveryland (similar to Disney Worlds Tomorrowland).
I’ll try and remember what we did and which rides we went on!
Buzz Lightyear’s Lazar Blast.
This is similar, if not identical to the one in Florida. You sit in pairs in a cart and shoot a lazar gun at targets as you go through different scenes with familiar characters from Toy Story. Your score is shown on a digital screen on the cart so you can see how we’ll you’re doing.
It’s an okay ride, but not really a thrilling ride. More for children, that’s for sure.
Again, this is in Florida too. This time it was in French though! It’s a 3D simulator that takes you on an adventure in a space trip.
I love 3D rides as I have no idea how they can give you that sensation of falling and moving fast when you’re not!
This ride is like one of those rides where you go in circles around a pole and can lift the cart you’re in up and down using the lever.
It was slightly faster than normal rides and when you got to the top, it tilted slightly which was a bit scary.
Mad Hatters Tea Cups.
NO SMILING ON THE TEA CUPS. Tea cups are fun. The end.
Alice’s Curious Labyrinth.
This wasn’t a ride, it was a maze with music, hedges that squirted at you and other things hidden amongst it.
Pinocchio’s Fantastic Journey.
This is a slow ride that takes you through various scenes of Pinocchio. I swear, I fell in love with that puppet on this holiday. I don’t know why. He’s just SO HAPPY AND SO GIDDY AND CUTE.
I don’t know.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
This is the same as Pinocchio, but filled with creepy snow white figures moving.
Pirates of the Caribbean.
This is the same as the one in Florida. It’s a boat ride though scenes of Pirates. I’m not sure how much it’s like the Pirates of the Caribbean films because I’ve only seen the first one and I can’t remember what happens.
There are a few slight drops, but nothing that requires you to be strapped into the boat.
Big Thunder Mountain.
This is very similar to Big Thunder Mountain at Florida, though I do think this is a bit faster/scarier. The Paris version has more rail roads through dark tunnels that are pretty fast. It’s fun. We went on it Twice.
This is a rubbish ride.
Same is the Florida one. You go into a lift that is a bit spooky, then sit onto carts that drag you around scary scenes. It’s really cheesy.
We were going to stay for the fireworks, but the girls were tired so we decided to head back and find a supermarket to get some food for the following day.
I GOT BEER YAY.
We did go on some of the other rides in the next few days, but you’ll have to wait for those 🙂
